Alfdaniels Mabingo

Alfdaniels Mabingo is a dance scholar, researcher, author, thinker, and performer from Uganda. He is a lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts and Film at Makerere University. His work revolves around pedagogies of African dance practices, decolonial dance research, the convergence of African philosophies and dance practices, and new economies of dance in African contexts. His current research and creative practice interrogate Indigenous African pedagogic practices as space for nurturing leaders and socioeconomic entrepreneurs, Indigenous dancing communities as living archives, decolonial dance pedagogies and research methodologies. Mabingo holds a B.A. in Dance and an M.A. in Performing Arts, both from Makerere University, and an M.A. in Dance Education from New York University. He holds a doctorate in Dance Studies from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Mabingo is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at the East and Southern Africa Management Institute. His scholarly, artistic, and pedagogic trajectories have yielded collaborative engagements in performances, research, public policy, community interventions, educational practices, and presentations worldwide.
